- I'll get back to this later, I'd guess. I am an Austin, Texas arts, culture, music professional. I founded and direct DiverseArts Culture Works, a nonprofit producing and presenting organization. Right now my focus is on developing programming within the East End Cultural Heritage District in Austin. The core work is cultural preservation, documentation, and public programs in Central East Austin...working to preserve some remaining bits of the African American cultural identity of this rapidly evolving, newly gentrified downtown Austin neighborhood; And, trying to reconcile for myself how to deal realistically with honoring this culture in the middle of a "new"scene that has little connection to it.
